Resilience Tips in Time of Crisis

by Bernadette Bruckner

Covid19 – a word with such a power globally that even the earth recovers with us!

(My view on a virus and noncebo with an AHA!-Attitude:

But we facing a tremendous change in our lifestyle, living, working and interpersonal. This might be scary or also packed with tons of possibilities for something we feel inside should be turned outside!

RE-think / RE-consider / RE-frame it

Many are struggling with this challenging times and I love to give you some copying strategies I developed for others to handle inner/outer stress in difficult times like we have now!

Tip #1 – Ask questions

Check for yourself what the virus Covid19 does with your mental health resp. all the informations about it? Does those informations you get feel right? Or do you sense something else?

Ask questions! Ask for yourself following:

  1. What kind of informations do I truely need to stay healthy and vital even with all this angst around perceiving?

  2. What ressource inside me do I have which helps me going through this times of crisis?

  3. What missing knowledge should I search for to help me and others staying healthy AND vital as well helping others as best possible?

Staying in critical questioning helps us not only distinguish informations we get from everywhere but also seeing (maybe) the positive side effects of a crisis. With less emotions towards a topic, you can choose better and stay in better (mental) health helping yourself and others.

Tip #2 – Stay healthy with boosting your immune system

My healthy tip in times of crisis is simple: boost your immune system with good food, exercise AND mental health methods!

Your body reacts on bad news, on uncertainty, on bad talks and thoughts. If we choose good nutrition with (as best as possible) organic, fresh veggies and fruits paired with no alcohol, but water, unsweeten tea – our immune system will be strong and have no reaction on any virus & bacteria!

Yes many forget that as they are in stress produced due bad news, fake news as well uncertainty regarding our future and security, our immune system is the one we should boost exactly at this times!

We all experienced one thing: when we have stressy times, most of the time we grap for unhealthy, sweet "junk food"! Do you know what I am talking about? 😊

Here my tip: just dont by unhealthy, sweet junk food! But what to eat then?

Healthy "slow food" are:

  • sweet carrots

  • dried fruits

  • apples with nuts compaired

  • mixed nuts with banana

As well do something different than you "usually" do: like doing sport, gardening, painting, …

Tip #3: Create a tremendous nice future for you and others – the After-Covid19-Time

Let's make vision boards or something else where you create for yourself a bright future what you love to have after the crisis. You can use whatever you love to:

  • paper – how much you love to use

  • crayons, water colours, …

  • magazine pictures

  • something from nature

  • you can put on your vision board words, emotions, …

  • and everything else you feel you would love to have on the vision board

Allow yourself enough time to make your bright future via your vision board.

P.S.: I've got 4 vision boards at which each one with a 1 m paper long.

Tip #4: Plogging is the new way of exercise

When I do my daily walk with our dog, I collect trash alongside the way. What if we all would collect trash we find in our surrounding helping the nature becoming clean? Wouldn’t be that a benefit for us all? A great exercise for us while doing good for the earth? Being in nature for approx. 20 min per day boost the immune system tremendously and also doing good for our environment!

Please stay healthy. Stay happy. Stay vital.
